High Cost-Performance Microwave Infrared Detection Technology in Computer Room Security Assurance

The microwave infrared detector is a product that integrates microwave and infrared detection technologies. It only outputs an alarm signal when both types of detectors generate alarm signals within a certain monitorable range. It retains the strong reliability of microwave detectors and the feature of passive infrared detectors that do not require lighting and have no brightness requirements, effectively reducing the false alarm rate of the detector. The false alarm rate of this composite alarm detector is 1% of that of single-technology microwave alarm devices. Of course, there are also products on the market that combine microwave and active infrared, vibration detectors, sound detectors, etc.

Passive infrared detection technology is based on the difference between the infrared radiation of the human body and the background object. The background infrared radiation is often weak and stable. The infrared radiation of intruders (including various animals) is often large and can trigger an alarm signal. If only one technology is used for detection, various animals (such as dogs, cats, mice, etc.) and various non-animal infrared radiation sources (such as heaters, strong lights, sunlight, etc.) may also trigger alarms. This alarm is in line with the working principle. Researchers specializing in dual-technology detectors combine microwave detection technology and passive infrared detection technology in one housing to form an intrusion detector. This dual-technology detector selects two technologies with different working principles and combines them to suppress false alarms that are inevitable in the working principle.

Many detectors are also equipped with anti-disassembly switches. If there is an attempt to disassemble the detector in the armed state, it will immediately trigger an alarm. Some manufacturers integrate detector performance automatic detection, battery power detection, signal transmission detection, etc. into one, greatly enhancing the performance of the product. However, due to the increase in cost, the price is more than twice that of ordinary infrared detectors or even more.

Dual-technology alarm detectors, also known as dual-technology detectors, composite detectors, or combined detectors, combine two detection technologies in a "logical AND" relationship to trigger an alarm. Common dual-technology alarm detectors include microwave-passive infrared dual-technology detectors and ultrasonic-passive infrared dual-technology detectors. In terms of actual reliability and false alarm rate, microwave-passive infrared dual-technology detectors have the best performance, being 270 times better than other dual-technology detectors, and are therefore widely used in actual engineering projects.

It should be noted that in some special application scenarios, alarm detectors with different detection technologies are required. At this time, the detector is not a dual-technology alarm detector. The purpose of its application is to avoid missed alarms as much as possible, and there is no requirement for false alarms. The actual detector used should be a detector with a "logical OR" relationship of different detection technologies or two different detection technology alarm detectors.
